25th International Congress of Radiology
Marrakesh 2008

Dear Colleagues and Friends,    Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom of Morocco and the city of Marrakesh are proud to host the 25th International Congress of Radiology. On behalf of the ICR Moroccan organizing committee it is a great pleasure for me to invite all international radiologists, scientists, researchers and healthcare professionals to Marrakesh, from June 5 to June 8, 2008, for this exciting event.

  The theme of the congress is “Towards Efficient Radiology for All”. Since its creation, the International Congress of Radiology has become the focus of developers and users of radiology worldwide. Faithful to this tradition, the main theme for the ICR 2008 congress focuses on the provision of useful and accurate imaging diagnoses and improvement of the quality of care of the patient. By adopting appropriate strategies, the ICR aims to make radiology accessible to all underprivileged and disadvantaged communities.

   We have planned what we believe will be an exceptional intellectual and cultural experience for everyone attending this congress. It will be an opportunity for all of us to discuss and exchange ideas, learn about exciting new advances in imaging technology, and strengthen research partnerships. The congress will also look toward the future by offering young doctors a challenging scientific program including publications and electronic posters.

   Leading radiological equipment vendors have also been invited to participate and present their latest technologies.

   The congress’s venue, Morocco, is in reality many countries in one, a safe and stable nation of beautiful and diverse landscapes. Marrakesh, the host city, Marrakesh, is a historic imperial city and cultural center offering a wide range of accommodations for all tastes and needs. Easily reached from any part of the globe, Marrakesh promises congress participants everything from traditional eleventh-century monuments to modern architecture, amenities and, of course, Moroccan cuisine!

   I am grateful to the board of the International Society of Radiology for entrusting the organization of this congress to the Moroccan committee. We are also indebted to the French Society of Radiology for its precious help. Finally, my warm thanks to you, the healthcare professionals whose participation and contributions will help us achieve the promise and ideals of this exceptional event.

   We urge you not to miss this great opportunity, and we look forward to having you all in Marrakesh.
