Bioethics Committee
Code of Ethics
Andrés Peralta Corneille, M.D., CIR Bioethics Committee’s Coordinator, prepared the document that established the general guidelines recommended for an ethical professional performance.
This document was reviewed by the Advisors to the College and approved unanimously by the CIR Assembly, which recommended it be adopted by Ibero-American radiologists and be placed on a permanent basis on the Web page www.cir-radiologia.org
In Dr. Peralta Corneille’s words, this document constitutes a general guideline that can be adjusted, supplemented and improved by experts in different countries; any suggestion for improvement being welcome at the General Secretariat.
Andrés Peralta Corneille, M.D., radiologist in the Dominican Republic and a well-known international expert in Bioethics, has been a valuable and restless collaborator for both the Dominican and continental radiology during his academic career. Former President of the Dominican Society of Radiology, he has been a delegate to the CIR Management Council for many years, and has participated in the coordination of two Radiology Congresses in the Caribbean organized by the College.
As a member of the formerly called Ethics and Bylaws Committee, Dr. Peralta proposed to separate the dual activities of that Committee, which action was approved in the amendment to the Bylaws in May 2006 thus giving ground to the creation of the current Bioethics Committee whose coordination has been commissioned to him.

Julián Sánchez Cortazar, M.D., informed the Assembly that the Bylaws that currently governs the Inter-American College of Radiology has been written in three official languages: Spanish, English and Portuguese, and posted on the Web page for consultation.
The Coordinator further informed that the Committee will be in charge of initiating the revision of several regulations in force in 2008.

An Attractive Program for the Marrakech Congress
Interviewed by NOTiCIR in Chicago during the RSNA convention in Chicago, Profesor Nourredine Chakir, Secretary General of the upcoming XXV International Congress of Radiology, informed us that there is an advanced Scientific and Academia Program in place, with world-class international professors who will present current subjects of interest for the international radiological community. |
In turn, Dr Ricardo García Mónaco, President of the CIR and representative of our College to the ISR, pointed out that radiologists from America and Spain will participate in the Program. Dr. Chakir also commented on the great tourist offer in Marrakech both to visit fantastic cities, such as Fez, Rabat or Marrakech, all accessible by good roads, and to visit the desert and/or the beautiful mountain range of Atlas, for those who love discovering places and uncommon landscapes.
