Dear Colleagues,
The Department of Electronic Education of the CIR announces the:

The virtual course will be held in April and May, 2009, and as with every other content of the portal, access to it will be free and unrestricted for the whole Spanish-speaking Radiological community.
It will count with Lectures by the most prominent ibero-american specialists, who will dazzle us with the latest advances in the subject. Lectures will be accompanied by evaluation, which will award virtual credits for continuous learning (category 2).

Also, we would like to invite the medical community to actively participate in the Course, sending a case on cardio-imaging.

In the last decade, both the MR and the Cardiovascular MDCT have experienced an important technical development. This has enabled an increment in their use and clinical value, complementing the more familiar arsenal from nuclear medicine (SPECT or PET perfusion) by providing functional complementary structural information in a non invasive way.
The MR has an excellent diagnostic quality, providing data, both morphological and functional which is essential for the heart’s and great vessels’ physiopathological understanding.
With 64 channel MDCT equipment, we are able to detect the ateroesclerotic disease in a reliable and precocious way.
The tendency to put together multidisciplinary work teams that include radiologists and cardiologists allows for knowledge exchange, more efficient and rational testing, all of which results in benefit for the patients and in a more appropriate management of them.
This non invasive Cardio-Imaging Virtual Course is designed to help understand and learn every aspect from the more basic ones to the more complex, of the generation and interpretation of non invasive cardiovascular images. Particularly since us radiologists are not that familiarized with them and we wish to learn their more relevant aspects in a practical and interactive way.
We hope that the whole community will participate and that the contents of the course may be useful for everyone!
Yours Faithfully,
